About the Apprenticeship :

We will mainly be looking for someone to support with Aaron Horn. He is a producer, songwriter, artist and sound therapist. He has 3 main artist projects, Aaron Horn, Opal Blue and Crate Classics with Jamie Rodigan. Most of his music is self-released. Day to day activities will include working on promotions, digital marketing, content creations and also data analytics. There will also be a focus on rights managements and registrations.

The skills developed by the end of the placement will include artist liaison, release strategy, an understanding of metadata, overview of distribution and contracts, PR strategy and activation, communication skills both online and in person, an understanding of publishing and rights.

There is also an opportunity to work in Hackney Road Studios with Mikko Gordon, for someone who has an interest in recording, producing and mixing music.

Monday - Friday (10am-6pm)

Future prospects description:

Upon completion of the Apprenticeship and evaluation by the company’s supervisors, the successful candidate may be offered a job at the end of the Apprenticeship.

Based in London and Barcelona, we are a tight knit artist management company geared towards supporting the artist and producers (our clients) navigate the ever changing music industry landscape. We manage the teams around them, including setting up deals and negotiating terms. This can be looking after record label, publishers, live agents, promoters, press and radio pluggers, social media management, sync related activities etc. We put together strategies for our clients and help them create and maintain a career in the music industry.

There are 3 directors. Daniel Cross who lives and works out of Barcelona. He mainly looks after Alizzz, one of the biggest artists and producers in Spain. Next we have Jane Horgan who looks after social media and administration. Also Dan Garber whose clients are Aaron Horn, Laura Bettinson and Mikko Gordon.

Skills required:

A good working knowledge of the music industry and passion for music is essential. Attention to detail, and research into campaign, new tech and release activations is important. Must have an understanding of streaming services. The ability to prioritise, multi-task and adapt to shifting schedules. Knowledge of the creative community is important. Ideally would be able to input ideas on videos, styling, photography etc. Excellent IT and digital skills and access to a computer is a must, as there will be a lot of remote working.

About the training:

Employability support will be provided by DiVA. You will attend seven workshops over the course of your placement. They will happen the last Wednesday of the month. They will be held virtually.

  • Introduction to the Creative Industries
  • Personal Branding: How to build and manage your personal brand at work and online
  • How to build and Network effectively
  • Money management: How to establish a side hustle and work as freelancer
  • Prove Your Passion on Paper: CV Writing
  • Prove Your Passion in Person: Interview skills

Workshops last three hours and contain a mix of taught session and masterclasses with industry guests.
