The BRITs Apprentice Scheme will give ten young people from England and Ireland a unique, high quality, paid opportunity to work at a top independent record label or music company, learn about the recorded music industry, receive practical ‘ hands-on’ experience, develop relevant skills and make key contacts.

You can apply for more than one Apprenticeship. However, you must submit a separate application for each role.

Blackstar is a marketing agency for the music industry. Blackstar specialise in building innovative campaigns for artists including campaign management, digital marketing, social management & creative direction with team members in London, Los Angeles & Salt Lake City.

Apprenticeship: Digital Marketing Assistant Apprentice [click here]
Kycker is a free online platform created for artists to use to manage their DIY careers and earn a sustainable income from their music. Artists can distribute their music to over 950 platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and more. Users are also able to claim performance royalties from all live shows and radio broadcasts at the push of a button.

Score Draw Music is a multi-award winning music and sound company working across film, television, advertising and animation.
The company was founded in the early 2000s by composer Mark Gordon and in the last few years has grown to a team of 7 musicians, producers and composers, with studios in the North and South of Ireland. Score Draw Music has delivered thousands of hours of music including songs, score and titles themes. Apprenticeship: Royalty and Business Affairs Assistant Apprentice [click here] The company is an independent UK label, active for over twenty years, which has consistently been ranked in the UK’s top twenty indies. The repertoire managed is varied with specialities in metal, on the Peaceville label, progressive, on Kscope, and other genres. The company has a roster of signed acts, releasing new music but is also well known for its catalogue activity. This derives from its own repertoire and material licensed from other labels and artists. It has a particular speciality in generating big career-defining physical boxed sets.

Weekly Wage:

London based vacancies – £18,000 a year | Vacancies outside London - £15,000 a year

Working Week:

Monday - Friday

Future prospects description:

Upon completion of the Apprenticeship and evaluation by the company’s supervisors, the successful candidate may be offered a job at the end of the Apprenticeship. At the very least you will have gained a substantial work placement and training, which will stand you in good stead.

Skills required:

Each Apprenticeship has its own specific skill requirements. However, all applicants must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills must be IT literate, organisational and time management skills.

Personal Qualities:

In addition to any specific requirement in the job descriptions, all applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for building a career in the music industry.

Qualifications Required:

All candidates must have as a minimum GCSE Maths and English at grades A-C. Please refer to individual job descriptions for further requirements.

About the training:

Depending on the apprenticeship opportunity you apply for, you will be working towards a Level 4 in Business and Administration or Level 3 in Junior Content Producer qualification.
